As part of the Annual General Meeting, we are looking for candidates to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors.
Introduction to The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal
The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal (VBM) promotes volunteerism among the Montreal population. It also supports its member organizations by offering a range of services tailored to their needs, such as recruitment and orientation of volunteers, training programs, a support service and a Reference Center.
It also supports the Meals-on-Wheels Program and community meals associated to its network as well as assuring a liaise between the Meals-on-Wheels network, the health sector and its beneficiaries.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of nine members, from non-profit organizations, the business world and the public sector of the Greater Montreal area. It is a diversified, dynamic Board with complementary skills. The term of office of Directors is two years.
Positions to be filled
Of nine positions on the board, five are up for election this year. Three current board members wish to continue their involvement.
Thus, two director positions are currently to be filled :
– A one year replacement mandate
– A full 2 years mandate
People wishing to submit their application must commit to the following:
– Regular meetings (approximately 6 to 8 a year)
– To certain working committees
– To the Annual General Meeting
– To occassional events
– To submit your application
Those interested in submitting their candidacy must send us a text of at least 300 words stating their professional background, their reason for joining the Board of Directors and the skills they wish to the Board of the VBM.
