Innovation Assistance
Monday Markets (2x/month):

  • welcoming volunteers between 11am-5:30pm (minimum 2 hour commitment)
  • market set up and tear down,
  • help serve people food (1pm-5pm),
  • prep in the kitchen,
  • work the reception desk, or check out desk

Wednesday mobile markets (2x/month): 10h-12h30

  • food transportation
  • market set up
  • serving at the market
  • teardown

Community Kitchens: every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm for food transformation (triaging, packaging, preparing, cooking/baking food) (minimum 2 hour commitment)

Calling: corresponding with members on IA updates and check in with them (around 1 hour per week, or every other week)

Data Entry: tcompiling invoice data into an excel spreadsheet for tracking and ordering purposes (approximately 2+ hours every week, or every other week as needed)

Moving food:
Micah will always be moving boxes of vegetables and dry goods. around 10am on market Mondays, flexible throughout the week. Reach out to her individually if you’re interested at 431-997-4998 or mangell@direction.ca

Urban Agriculture
Monday Market volunteer shifts (9:30-12:00) to help with harvest and processing before market starts, on market weeks.
Tuesday Gardening volunteer shifts (9:30-12:00) for single/double site garden work.
Friday Gardening volunteer shifts (9:30-12:00) for general gardening maintenance.

Children’s Library
minimum 1h/week during library hours (tues, weds, thus 15h-18h; fri 11h30-17h30)
volunteers must preferably be 18 years old or older.
volunteers fall under two general categories: assisting children and library maintenance
Assisting children: mainly every 2 fridays to hang out with kids and help them during a workshop. Also the possibility of coming during francisation. For this option, the volunteer must speak french
library maintenance: this includes being at the library desk, answering the door, entering books into libib, disinfecting + shelving books, entering new books into catalog, covering new books, etc. These tasks are pretty repetitive but this is where we’ll need the most help in Sept + Oct

Aide à l’innovation
Marchés du lundi (2x/mois) :

  • accueil de bénévoles entre 11h et 17h30 (engagement minimum de 2 heures)
  • Montage et démontage du marché,
    aider à servir la nourriture aux gens (13h-17h),
  • préparer la cuisine
  • travailler à la réception ou à la caisse
