A Visit from Centraide
On May 14th, members of the Centraide team and funding partners of its Collective Impact Project (CIP) came to Peter-McGill to visit the neighbourhood and to learn more about the progress of our My Peter-McGill project. Despite the rainy weather, we toured the Grand Séminaire, Cabot Square (with a view of the future Children’s Square) and the Grey Nun’s garden to show them the developments in progress and to discuss the challenges we are facing in advocating for more parks, schools and social housing
Another Year of Funding
With this successful visit in mind, we are very pleased to announce that Centraide and its CIP partners have extended funding for the My Peter-McGill project by an extra year! We would also like to welcome two new full-time Mobilisation Officers to the project, Christa Smith and Viviane Cottle, who are joining the project with our partners at Innovation Youth and Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi Centre-ville (CJE) respectively. They will be working together to engage community members on issues of public space through creative events and activities, and meeting new people at community events and by going door to door. We are very excited to have them as part of our team!
We would also like to thank Sabine Philippidès and the YWCA, as well as our partners at Groupe Harmonie, who have worked with us since My Peter-McGill’s inception in 2017 to mobilise families and seniors for the project. We look forward to future collaboration with them and developing our partnerships in new and innovative ways.
