Mobilizing Mackay !

On September 19, Rue Mackay will come alive with a festive and engaging day featuring student associations, community organizations, and members of the Concordia community. Mobilizing Mackay is part of Park(ing) Day, a global event that temporarily transforms parking spaces into parks and social gathering spots to advocate for safer, greener, and more equitable streets.

Program:

  • From 10:00 AM: Free coffee at the corner of Mackay & de Maisonneuve (bring your own mug). Meet student and community associations along Mackay between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve. More details.

  • From 1:00 PM: Public discussions at the 4th Space with community and university leaders sharing their plans and aspirations for the future of Rue Mackay. Learn more about the event on Concordia’s official page: Mobilizing Mackay

  • All day: Meet and exchange with organizations including Community Table Peter-McGill, Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi Centre-Ville Montréal, Sollicité – Eco-neighborhood, CURE: Community–University Research Exchange, the Concordia Food Coalition, and SEIZE: Solidarity Economy Incubator Project.

You are also invited to take part in our collaborative fresco at the corner of Mackay and de Maisonneuve—an open, creative activity for everyone!

Join us in celebrating the vibrancy of our community and reimagining public spaces that are more inclusive and sustainable.
