Dear Families,
We are writing to you today to let you know that as of June 30th, family activities will no longer be offered by our partners at the YWCA Montreal. This includes the drop-in daycare, toddler gym, parent-child group, after-school programs, and the spring and summer camps. While we are sad to share this news, we want to assure you that the majority of these services and activities will continue to be offered by nearby organisations
Sabine will continue her role as a Family Liaison and will keep running the Drop-In Daycare, as well as the Toddler Gym which will operate out of Innovation Youth (2205 Tupper St) as soon as it is safe to do so. Innovation Youth will take over all after-school activities. While the parent-child group for families with children aged 0 to 2 will not continue this year, we encourage parents to stay in contact with one another through the Facebook discussion & support group, which will still be available and moderated by Sabine. Unfortunately, the spring and summer camps will not continue at this time.
Please make sure to sign-up for the Families Downtown newsletter to receive updates on when and how these activities will resume as well as registration details.
A Message from the YWCA
“YWCA Montreal has offered family programming since 2014 and it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye. We want to thank the staff, past and present, who made these quality activities possible with their hard work and dedication. They have all done their best to listen and respond to the evolving needs of families living in the Peter-McGill neighborhood in collaboration with our partners.
We especially want to thank our current staff who are doing everything they can to ensure a smooth transition during this difficult time. We are deeply saddened to see them go.
Working with families has been a very motivating and rewarding experience. We will miss you.”
