Did you know that Ville-Marie is the only Borough without an elected Borough Mayor? 

Bernard Sanchez, resident and President of the Shaughnessy Village Association, and Jennifer Maccarone, our provincial representative for Westmount–Saint-Louis, recently worked together to submit a petition to the Quebec government. The petition asks the government to remove paragraph 2 of article 17 of the City of Montreal Charter, which would allow our Borough to elect its own mayor.  

A message from Mr. Sanchez:

“I am humbly asking each and everyone to access the petition and sign it online.  It will take only a few minutes of your time. Please help me better help you.

I am also asking you to send the link to everyone you know, no matter the age or where they reside. This is, as you may know a numbers game, and the bigger the numbers the better chances your voice will be heard.”
