Inspired by society’s increasing reliance on technology during the pandemic, the BiblioTech Connect project aims to make using tech devices more accessible to seniors.
Our approach includes lending out free tablets with built-in internet to seniors at home, hosting an in-person Tech Café for digital literacy opportunities, and offering ongoing one-on-one volunteer support.
This project is funded by a generous grant from the New Horizon’s for Seniors Program.
TECH CAFE – The in-person Tech Café is open to all community members.
Bring your own device or borrow a Yellow Door tablet, and have your tech questions answered!
We will have volunteers present to provide one-on-one support, educational presentations aimed at improving digital literacy skills, and opportunities for small group tech projects.
The Tech Café will take place on Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm at Galeries du Parc, 3590 Jeanne Mance (first door on the left) weekly starting September 9th.
TABLET LENDING – Seniors who are current members of the YD may borrow a tablet for two weeks at a time.
Rentals and returns will take place at the in-person Tech Café at Galeries du Parc.
If you cannot attend the Tech Café but are still interested in borrowing a tablet, please contact us to organize a tablet delivery and pickup.
