EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY- LIAISON AND CONCERTATION OFFICER

La Table de quartier Peter-McGill wants to meet you. The mandate of the liaison officer will be to support the collective work in the downtown area with respect to issues of inclusion of people with an immigrant background. The Liaison Officer will also play an important role with members through mobilization and volunteer support. They will be an important member at the heart of a dynamic team.

Our mission is to bring together the different members of downtown Montréal (residents, organisations, institutions and businesses) to create collective projects that cultivate a sense of belonging and foster active participation in neighbourhood life.

TASKS :

Concertation Liaison

  • Organize and facilitate committee meetings between committee partners (via Zoom until further notice)
  • Provide logistical and administrative support in the delivery and implementation of action plans
  • Contribute to the development of community projects and activities
    Mobilize community partners and foster new partnerships
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with and between partners
  • Work closely with the CIUSSS to improve outreach to vulnerable populations

Internal life of the organization

  • Membership development: create welcoming tools, management of renewal campaigns and regular
    communication with members
  • Recruiting and coaching volunteers
  • Support organizing events and in promoting the organization

DESIRED PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in humanities or communications, or any relevant training and/or 1-2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Fluency in French is essential and good skills in spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of collaboration and of the community sector
  • Understanding of the dynamics of collective work and knowledge of the community sector
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to identify common ground, possible avenues of development, and the implementation of unifying activities
  • Knowledge of inclusion and/or immigration issues
  • Autonomy, good adaptability and ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge of the Peter-McGill neighborhood is an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • 35 hours per week, for a one-year contract.
  • Hourly rate between 18.43$ and 19.54$ according to the organization’s salary scale
  • Remote work until further notice; possibility to go back to the office progressively depending on the evolution of public health measures.
