Project Manager – Skills Volunteering Program

About the VBM :

The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal (VBM) promotes volunteerism among Montrealers and supports its members by offering a range of services adapted to their needs, such as volunteer recruitment and orientation, a training program, support services and a referral centre. It also supports Meals-on-Wheels and community meal services affiliated with its network. It acts as a liaison between a network of Meals-on-Wheels, the health community and its beneficiaries, as well as volunteer food services in Montreal.

Skills-based volunteering :

This type of volunteering involves offering expertise and know-how to organizations in the community by applying specific skills and professional experience. The VBM carries out an innovative competency-based volunteering program that mainly aims to match and support stakeholders in order to facilitate the social participation of groups and individuals from the business world while strengthening the capacity of community organizations to achieve their mission.

Job description :

Under the Executive Director and in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent will be responsible for enhancing the current program and ensuring the various components at both the strategic and operational levels. The incumbent must have strong project management and partnership development skills and adhere to the values and mission of the VBM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

● Analyze the current program and propose a plan for development and enhancement;

● Build a business plan;

● Participate in the development of the communications plan;

● Recruit and coordinate the necessary internal and external resources;

● Canvassing, developing and maintaining partnership relationships;

● Create and facilitate working and consultation committees as required;

● Perform customer service, matches and follow-ups;

● Evaluate processes and impacts and make continuous improvements;

● Conduct media and scientific monitoring for content creation, research and development, funding, partnership relations and communication strategies;

● Represent the organization and the program at various events or with various bodies or groups;

● Write reports and contribute to accountability for the program;

● Manage and respect the various contractual parameters, budgets and deadlines;

● Take part in the team life and the overall mission of the organization;

● Other related tasks.

Skills :

● Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in business development, social sciences or other relevant field;

● 3 years of demonstrated experience in project management;

● Good knowledge of the community and business environment in Montreal and Quebec;

● Excellent writing, synthesis, written and oral communication skills;

● Bilingual, spoken and written.

Qualities :

● Autonomy, rigor and strong organizational skills;

● Excellent interpersonal skills and team player;

● Creativity and dynamism;

● Ability to adapt to a changing work environment, to handle several files simultaneously;

● Proficiency in the use of databases, office automation and electronic communication software.

Additional Information :

● Contract ending March 31, 2025 with the possibility of renewal or permanency;

● Full-time, 35 hours per week;

● Hourly wage according to the organization’s salary scale;

● Occasional travel within the territory of the VBM;
